NAME

     topols - search topographic maps at TopoZone.com using the name of a place and other parameters as necessary.


SYNOPSIS

     topols [ PLACE_NAME ] [-st STATE_ABBREVIATION ] [-co COUNTY ] [-pt PLACE_TYPE ] [-m MATCH_TYPE]


DESCRIPTION

     topols provides commandline access to the USGS topographic maps (hosted at Topozone.com)
     by returning a list of search results that includes information such as the County, State,
     Type [of Place], Elevation, USGS Quad [sheet], Latitude and Longitude.  Use of the other
     parameters is optional, but helps to narrow down the results for common place names.


EXAMPLES

     Example: topols Paris
     Result:  Lists results for various places named Paris throughout the U.S.

     Example: topols Rome -st GA
     Result:  Lists result for the Rome, Georgia (GA).

     Example: topols -st MI -co Oceana -pt Lake
     Result:  Lists information for lakes in the state of Michigan, Oceana county.

     Example: topols Sierra -m 1
     Result:  Lists place names beginning with Sierra.


NOTES

     Place names are not case sensitive, but state, county, and place-type parameters are.
     The match parameter has a default value of 0 for exact match.
Values of 1 and 2 can be
     used to do "begins with" or "contains" queries respectively.
